CHE Furnaces was commissioned to design and manufacture a Drop Bottom Furnace for the aerospace industry, to be used to manufacture aircraft assemblies from aluminum. This system was designed to provide a heat treatment solution for aluminum airplane skins with a seven second quench time. The furnace featured indirect fired tube burners, a pneumatic hoist, and a quench tank system with an operating temperature range of 425 to 1100 °F. The entire system was designed, fabricated, and assembled on site at our state of the art facility by AWS certified welders.

The system meets AMS 2750 E, BAC5621, BAC5602, GAMPS5108 and AMS 2770 J industry standards for aerospace heat treating equipment. Comprehensive in process temperature uniformity survey was conducted to ensure quality and integrity.

Turnaround time for this project was 12 weeks, installed on location in Vista, CA. For more information about this cost effective custom drop bottom furnace, or the other design and manufacturing capabilities available please see the table below or contact us directly.
