CHE Furnaces was asked to design and manufacture a Shaker Furnace for the aerospace industry, to be used to manufacture aircraft rivets from titanium. This system was designed to provide an atmospheric purged heat treatment solution for titanium rivets with fresh water cooled quench tank. The furnace featured rod over bend heating elements, high vacuum pump, RA 330 retort assembly, and a quench tank system with an operating temperature range of 1750 to 1900 °F. The entire system was designed, fabricated, and assembled on site at our Anaheim, CA facility by AWS certified welders.

The system meets AMS 2750 E and AMS 2770 J industry standards for aerospace heat treating equipment. Comprehensive in process temperature uniformity survey was conducted to ensure quality and integrity.
