CHE Furnaces was commissioned to design and manufacture a Drop Bottom Furnace for the aerospace industry, to be used to manufacture aircraft assemblies from aluminum. This system was designed to provide a heat treatment solution for aluminum airplane skins with a ten second quench time. The furnace featured coiled heating elements, an electric hoist, and a quench tank system with an operating temperature range of 425 to 1100 °F. The entire system was designed, fabricated, and assembled on site at our state of the art facility by AWS certified welders.

The system meets AMS 2750 E, BAC5621, BAC5602, GAMPS5108 and AMS 2770 J industry standards for aerospace heat treating equipment. Comprehensive in process temperature uniformity survey was conducted to ensure quality and integrity.

The customer reported a greater satisfaction with the reliability and temperature uniformity of this furnace than with other units. Turnaround time for this project was 18 weeks, installed on location in Chihuahua, Mexico.
